Description

LRF-868 is a GPS locator with GPRS communication developped by PRODIMAR for the localisation, in real time, of trailer platforms and containers.

The device allows the detection of the fleet position thanks to the GPS receiver through the GPS satellite system.

The communication of the fleet position via GPRS enables the easy monitoring and tracking from the central.

The innovation presented in the LRF-868 is triple:

  • A number of digital inputs and outputs enables the connection of several sensors as well as power relay outputs.
  • An internal battery gives the devices a minimum of 72 hours operation time without feeding connection.
  • An Access Point in 868 MHz radio platform is incorporated to the device and allows it to get a connection with another devices (data loggers) developped by PRODIMAR in the same communication band.

 

Applications

LRF-868 is a PRODIMAR locator conceived for the location of trucks platforms in real time, make or follow their traceability (internal temperature, impacts, etc.) and, at the same time, avoid the robbery of these platforms or trailers.

The location or position of the trailer is made thanks to the GPS device integrated in the LRF-868 and to the GPS satelite system. In addition, this information of the platform position can be sent to the client's server ir real time through a GSM/GPRS communication system.

The control of several variables inside the trailer or traceability can be carried out in a double mode: connecting different sensors to the digital inputs contained by the locator or thanks to the 868 radio transceiver integrated in the device, able to get a connection with other PRODIMAR devices developped in the same radiofrequency band such as the TAID data loggers family placed in the trailer.

As the LRF-868 can be connected, via RF 868 with other devices with the same RF band, it can establish a connection from the platform or trailer with a TAID device (KR, MD, etc.) placed in the tractor head. This way, an association is established between the trailer and tractor head (even among driver, tractor head and trailer) to avoid the robbery of platforms. When the locator gets power from a tractor head, it turns on the 868 radio and tries to get the connection with the TAID that should be placed in "its" tractor head. If there is another tractor trying to move the trailer, the connection won't be possible and the LRF-868 will send an alarm via GPRS to the central indicating its position.

 

es un dispositivo concebido para poder localizar las plataformas de camiones en tiempo real, hacer una trazabilidad (temperatura interior, impactos, etc.) de las mismas y, al mismo tiempo, evitar el robo de dichas plataformas o remolques.

La localización o posición del remolque o plataforma se obtiene gracias al GPS integrado en el equipo y al sistema de satélites GPS. A su vez, esa información de la posición de cada plataforma se envía en tiempo real al servidor del cliente a través de un sistema de comunicación por GSM/GPRS.

La trazabilidad o control de distintas variables puede llevarse a cabo en un doble modo: en primer lugar, conectando diferentes sensores a las entradas digitales del propio LRF-868; en segundo lugar y gracias a que el localizador lleva un chip radio de 868 MHz, éste puede conectarse, vía radio, a dispositivos para el control de variables de la familia TAID desarrollados por PRODIMAR colocados en el propio camión.

Al poder establecer esta unión con otros dispositivos que operan en esa misma banda de radiofrecuencia, el LRF-868, siempre en la plataforma, puede establecer una conexión o asociación con un dispositivo TAID (KR, MD, etc.) colocado en la tractora del camión y, de este modo, se establede una asociación entre la plataforma y la tractora (incluso entre conductor-tractora-plataforma). De este modo, se evitan posibles robos de las plataformas por parte de otras tractoras ya que, al recibir alimentación externa, el LRF-868 enciende su radio 868 e intenta conectarse con este dispositivo colocado en "su" tractora; de ser otra tractora la que intenta mover a la plataforma, no se establecerá esa conexión y se enviará una alarma por GPRS a la central indicando la posición de la misma.

Characteristics

  • LRF-868 is a GPS locator to determine, basically, the position of a truck platform.
  • It contains GPRS communication. It allows to send on-line information (not only the position) registered by the device to the server where the application for the fleet control is installed.
  • The device has incorporated a 868 MHz radio transceiver. It makes possible to connect the LRF-868 to a wide range of devices developped with the same communication band by PRODIMAR, such as TAID-KR or TAID-DL in order to obtain not only information relative to the position of the truck, but also to another variables (temperature, illumination in the container, impacts, etc.).
  • Digital inputs are used to connect several sensors to the locator such as temperature sensor, humidity one, illumination, etc. At the same time, digital power relay outputs are used to connect some relay power outputs.
  • An interna Lithium Ion battery gives the device a full operating time of, minimum, 72 hours without receiving external power. In normal conditions, the locator is feeding externally.
  • The case of the device is robust, and it is ideal for its internal or external installation. It can reach the IP66 standards protection rate.

Components

LRF-868 is composed by the following elements:

  • New generation GPS.
  • GSM/GPRS quad-band modem.
  • 868 MHz ISM band radio transceiver.
  • Ultra low power consumption microprocessor.
  • Internal 8 Mbits memory for the data registration.
  • Real time clock.
  • LEDs for the information of several operating modes.
  • USB interface for the configuration of the device.
  • 4 opto-isolated digital inputs for several sensors and 4 digital relay outputs.
  • Lithium Ion battery.
  • Slot for a SIM card.

In addition, LRF-868 can contain several sensors connected to the digital inputs obtaining a more completed device. Besides and thanks to the 868 MHz radio trasceiver, the locator can be connected to other devices operating in the same band, such as the TAID family, developped by PRODIMAR. These devices will complement the operation of the device.
